Moving on to the next decade, the 1760's present us with an opportunity which was lacking in the 1750's: being able to provide dates of composition, which, if not exact, are at least more narrowly boxed in. As you would expect, certain genres have been far more closely studied than others have, thus the dates for symphonies are likely closer than those for string trios, for example. No matter, we will soldier on and make the best of what we have, grateful for it!
